The Live Help Android app is now available to purchase in the Android Marketplace for all devices running Android 2.1 or above. Live Help for your Android phone allows you to view browsing visitors on your web site and Live Chat with visitors. You are also able to easily view and search through the Live Help chat history to help monitor your customer service quality. In addition to this you are also able to check what operators are online and chatting with your web site visitors.

Live Help v3.90 – Improved Dashboard and City Location

We recently launched the Live Help Server Software v3.90 and Live Help Messenger Desktop application v3.90 in early March. The major new features include a improved dashboard that features an activity feed and monthly visitor summary, Smarty template support for easily customising the Live Chat window, IP city / state location detection and minor bug fixes. The new features within this software update are detailed below for your reference:

The new Live Help v3.90 software update also supports IP city and state location detection. We support the MaxMind GeoLite City (free) and MaxMind GeoIP City (paid with higher accuracy) databases.
These databases are not included with the Live Help downloads (due to the size of the database) so you will need to download the latest database from the MaxMind web site (KB Article: MaxMind IP City Location Support).

Live Chat WHMCS Integration / Visitor Monitoring

We are happy to announce that at the start of this month we launched our Live Chat WHMCS Integration with the great folks over at WHMCS.  The WHMCS Live Chat integration will detect if a site visitor is logged into your WHMCS installation and provide Quick Links to various WHMCS functionality.

The screenshot above illustrates the Quick Links within the visitor details.  The Quick Links allow you to quickly open the WHMCS web based administration area to view a customer summary, view orders, manage products, manage services, manage invoices, view / edit support tickets and emails.  A detailed view of the Quick Links is shown below.

The WHMCS integration is also accessible from within a chat window if you are chatting with a WHMCS visitor that is logged into the WHMCS client area.

Joomla Module and WordPress Plugin Available

The Live Help Server Software has been updated to version 3.85.  This minor update adds two plugins for the Joomla CMS and WordPress Blog software as well as jQuery support for the standard Live Help HTML code.  The plugins allow you to easily add the Live Help JavaScript and Online / Offline buttons to your web site without editing your Joomla or WordPress templates.  Just install the Joomla module or WordPress plugin and the HTML code will be automatically added.

The WordPress plugin allows you place the Live Help button on your blog web pages as a WordPress widget.  The plugin also supports a WordPress shortcode if you need to display a Live Help button within one of your blog posts.

Upgrade Live Help Install Live Help as per http://livehelp.stardevelop.com/documentation/server.htm however you don’t need to insert the Live Help HTML code.  The WordPress Plugin will do that for you.
Upgrade Live Help Copy the /livehelp/plugins/wordpress/livehelp/ directory to your wp-content/plugins/ directory
Upgrade Live Help The plugin directory should now be located at wp-content/plugins/livehelp/
Upgrade Live Help Activate the Live Help plugin at WordPress Administration > Plugins > Installed

Upgrade Live Help Login to the Joomla Administration (Requires Joomla 1.5.x or above)
Upgrade Live Help Browse to Extensions > Install / Uninstall
Upgrade Live Help Type the full path to the /livehelp/plugins/joomla/mod_livehelp directory within the “Install from Directory” option
Upgrade Live Help Install the Live Help Module by pressing the Install button
Upgrade Live Help Enable the Live Help Module within the Extensions > Module Manager > Site
