Live Help Update – Tagged Pre-typed Responses
The next update to the Live Help Messenger Windows application is almost ready for release. Within the next few weeks, version 3.5 will be available as a Release Candidate.
One of the primary focuses for this release, included improving the usage of pre-typed responses within Live Help. You are now able to tag pre-typed responses, so they are easily accessible from within chat transcripts. This exclusive and innovative feature is one of many exciting features that we will be introducing to Live Help within 2009.
Tagged pre-typed responses are shown below within the following screen shots.

Tags can be used to associate common words with pre-typed responses (such as Text, Hyperlinks, Images, and JavaScript). This feature will allow you to respond to messages faster and avoid searching through long lists of responses. Tags will be highlighted and act like buttons within chat messages, as shown below.

That looks like a really good idea. We always have the same questions asked, but it looked too awkward to set up a pre typed response.
This looks quite straightforward!! Excellent.

Strange strategic decision to improve the software but at least an update.
Thanks

This is all very well and good but i for one would really appreciate it if you could fix the problems in current versions before releasing new versions that haven’t fixed issues in previous versions!
In the XP version it is still impossible for the chat operator to view the smilies the chatting customer has used and still impossible for the chat operator to use smilies.
You have said repeatedly over the last year that this would be resolved but it still hasn’t!
Please fix current issues before working on new features!!

Andy,
Thanks for the feedback! Smilies have been added within this next v3.5 update to the operator console. The earlier v2.95 for Windows XP is no longer being updated so you would need to upgrade your XP machines to the latest v3.x releases.

Good to see this update coming through.
Will defiantly help me and training new staff will be an ease, with having pre typed responses.
My only question is what is happening with the call back feature, it steams to be half implemented?
On the client console it works, but no where can I see the guest side of being able to request this?
Clint.

I think it’s a great idea….smilies are nice too, but intelligent response tags would really be helpful. A lot of the same questions asked here too.
Now, how about adding trouble tickets to the mix? ;-)

Glad to hear it :D
Any clue as to when version 3 will be released?

Do we have any ETA on the release of this new version into RC for us to test/play with?
We’re really quite keen to get moving on this and would love to see a more stable development schedule maintained for future versions.

Please email us if you would like access to a beta release of 3.5 within the next 1-2 days. This will be a limited access beta until the RC is available.
The v3.5 release (including the beta) will not be compatible with previous releases of the operator Windows application.

Dear Developers,
When do you expect to have 3.5 released?

Nice !! Great job !
Can we know about the other features that will be implemented in the next update (besides the Pre-typed Responses of course) ? :)

We are currently beta testing the v3.5 release before the RC will become available. There is some issues when running the v3.5 within the upcoming Windows 7 that we are also working on resolving within this next release.
Please contact us via. email if you would like a copy of the v3.5 beta version.

One question? When the 3.5 version is final, are we still going to have to install it as a whole new installation or can we install it as an upgrade?
May 14th, 2009 at 1:08 PM
CT, an upgrade option will be available if you are currently running the latest Live Help release, v3.30.

Any news on final release and Win7 compatibility ?

Hi,
Any chance of this release seperating departments from the user’s menu.
I mean having a seperate section in settings for creating departments, then instead of in user setup being able to type anything as the department, making it so you check which departments are applicable to that user. Otherwise for example if you want to list two departments seperately, with the same users in both, its impossible right?
Cheers. Stevie

Francois, the Windows 7 issues are only minor after further investigation. These have been addressed within the v3.5 Windows application and were only related to pinning the application to the taskbar. There is no remaining issues present within the Windows 7 RC – although there is still some Windows 7 specific features that we would like added.
Furthermore, we are still resolving some Asterisk issues for the VoIP callback feature within v3.5 – once these have been addressed a final release should not be far away.
Stevie, we are considering making changes to how departments are handled within a future Live Help release. It is unlikely that these changes will be added to the v3.5 release. You can currently assign an operator to more than one department by separating the departments with a semi-colon.

Iv’e been using version 3.5 on Windows 7 for a couple of weeks now and it seems to run pretty stable.. on the site/visitor history it would be great if we could add our own ‘search engines’ i.e. yell.com etc

May 26th, 2009 at 4:06 PM
Any idea when it be out?
May 28th, 2009 at 5:07 AM
Do you have plans on ever making the application for Mac OS and Linux?
May 28th, 2009 at 2:04 PM
Hi,
I was wondering if you ever considered making the URLs of referrer in history linkable?
Also history of visitors doesnt go past last year, maybe this should be searchable back more than that, maybe cataloging by year or allowing search by specific date or date range, even a search feature of transcripts to find customers or references.
I use these tools daily have been using LiveHelp Messenger for years and love it, good job guys.

Guys, we are waiting almost 3 month!
June 2nd, 2009 at 10:16 PM
Val, we apologise for the unexpected delays with the v3.5 release. However the release is almost ready for the final release.

I have heard the new release v3.5 will be available this week, is this true?
If so, is it going to be the RC or the Final version (stable)?
