Live Help Server Software Updated
The Live Help Server Software has been updated to v3.30 This new release is a major upgrade that supports the upcoming Live Help Messenger Desktop 3.0 application. In addition, the current Live Help Messenger Windows application 2.95 is supported for compatibility.
Upgrade instructions are shown below if you are running the Live Help Server Software v3.28. Any Live Help Server Software installations below v3.28 will need to complete a re-installation using an empty MySQL database.

Backup your current /livehelp directory |

Upload the v3.30 /livehelp directory excluding the /livehelp/include/database.php file |
|
Sign-in to the Live Help Messenger Windows application |
|
When you sign-in, an automatic transparent upgrade will occur |
|
Sign-out of the Live Help Messenger Windows application |
|
Delete the /livehelp/install/ directory |
|
Upgrade completed |
The Live Help Messenger Desktop 3.0 application will be made available within the next week or so – please upgrade to this latest Server Software release so that you are ready for the new Windows application release. Also, feel free to email or chat via. Live Help if you have any trouble upgrading or re-installing the Live Help Server Software.

There is an .htaccess file that is featured within the download; which needs to be deleted for the install/upgrade to work.

Can’t wait for the new app, if you still need people to help test it, I would love to help. I was testing 3.0 but did not get the new one with Skype, can’t wait to use it.

Here is a few thing I wish to see in the final version of the dektop software:
- I would like to initate chat with all customers with one button, or filter (e.g customers who spent 5 minute or more in the website) ( This would be a GREAT feature)
- I would like to know the status (Accepted , Declined ) within the application (I can see that when using the server side URL, but for some reason I can’t do that in the software)
- Being able to chat Right to Left would be great for other languages
- I think Country does not work yet, but I would love to see in the visitor information: Country, City, and if I have chated before or not.

I would like to know the status (Accepted, Declined) within the application (I can see that when using the server side URL, but for some reason I can’t do that in the software)
Should add column for Accepted, Declined in Currently Browsing Site Vistors so I do not have to repeat to invite them.

I can’t wait for the new Stardevelop Beta to come out in production. Great product guys, the best on the market IMO.
Any plans on creating a Windows Mobile version for people with Treo cell phones and other Windows Mobile phones?

The version 3.0 Windows application was made available early May (you can now login to the customer area to download this new release) Unfortunately the release was delayed a few extra weeks than originally expected, when this blog entry was posted.
